Dmitri Capyrin

An Approach to Jupiter
for Violin, Viola, Cello and Piano

The main feature of the piece is its material evolution and transformation along with gradual stylistic and creative modulation starting from the beginning till the end.
Soft and habitual initial accords as though emerging from one’s childhood get more and more dramatic inflection alongside with the progress.  There are new and new instruments introduced into musical substance and gradually lead into qualitative stylistic changes, as though breaking habitual appearance and away into new unexplored space. In the highest emotional point, on the crest of smooth and lengthy culmination an unexpected break happens. Musical substance imaginably falls apart loosing tension and relaxing within time. On this background at the very end of the piece echoes of the initial theme are heard as a phantom.
